Coding agents

Who makes each agent, under what licence, where it runs, and whether it will take a model of your choosing. Agents with a public source repository. Every field below is copied from that repository's own metadata or its own documentation, never from another comparison site.

This table is curated by hand. Every other page on this site is rebuilt daily from a collector and keeps a source on each value. There is no feed for coding agents, so these rows were typed and checked on , 14 days ago.

Repo created is not a release date. It is the day the repository was made, which is the only date the source publishes. Zed's repository dates from 2021 and the editor shipped in 2024. A dash under “Any model” or “Runs in” means the field was not checked, not that the answer is no.

Common questions

Where does this table come from?
Each row is copied from that agent's own repository metadata or its own documentation, and carries the date it was checked. It is not collected daily like the rest of the site, and it is not copied from another comparison site.
Why is there no price column?
Agent pricing changes month to month and nothing on this site collects it. A price typed by hand in September and read in March is worse than no price at all, so there is none.
Why does the date column say repo created rather than released?
Because that is the date the source actually publishes. The two are not the same: Zed's repository dates from 2021 and the editor shipped in 2024. Calling it a release date would be a claim the source does not make.
Why are some agents missing?
This tranche covers agents with a public source repository, because those are the ones whose facts can be checked against a source rather than repeated from someone else's table.
